BACKGROUND

The Nepal Competitiveness Index (NCI) is a collaborative effort of the Nepal Institute for Policy Research (NIPoRe) and the Asia Competitiveness Institute (ACl). It ranks Nepal’s provincial governments based on analysis across four environments, 11 sub-environments, and 64 indicators. For the 2023 edition of NCI, NIPoRe and ACI have analyzed the digital competitiveness of Nepal’s seven provinces and the main competitiveness ranking. The digital competitiveness ranking comprises four environments and 23 indicators.

The NCI and thematic analysis aim to help the key policy stakeholders in Nepal and outside better understand the competitiveness of Nepal’s seven provinces and formulate more realistic plans and policies for provincial economic development.
