The Nepal Institute for Policy Research (NIPoRe) is hosting the institute’s flagship Coffee Session with Hon’ble Udaya Shumsher Rana on 15 July 2024 at the NIPoRe Conference Room in Lalitpur, Nepal. This session with one of Nepal’s prominent lawmakers will discuss Nepal’s existing economic diplomacy priorities and strategies.About the SpeakerHon’ble Udaya Shumsher Rana is a House of Representatives (HoR) representing the Nepali Congress. He is also a member of the International Relations and Tourism Committee in the HoR. Previously, he served as the Minister of State for Finance from 2017 to 2018. He was the president of Nepal Tarun Dal (NTD), a sister organization and youth organization of the Nepali Congress, from 2012 to 2017. He is currently a member of the Nepali Congress’s Central Working Committee. In addition to his political roles, he has been actively engaged in various initiatives to empower young people and foster economic development. His tenure at Nepal Tarun Dal was marked by significant efforts to mobilize youth participation in politics and promote leadership skills among young activists. Known for his dynamic approach and commitment to public service, Rana has also been involved in numerous community development projects, focusing on education, healthcare, and infrastructure improvements.
